1) Place rock + sand. 2) Add 5lb of true live rock for seeding. 3) Dose Dr. Tim's One and Only or FritzZyme 7. 4) Add ammonia to 2 ppm. 5) Wait until ammonia + nitrite both read 0 in 24h (4-6 weeks).
What hitchhikers come on live rock?
Common: copepods, amphipods, micro-brittle stars, feather dusters, sponges, bristleworms, peanut worms (all desirable). Pests: aiptasia, vermetids, mantis shrimp (rare), AEFW eggs, parasitic flatworms. Always dip suspect pieces.
Can I mix live + dry rock?
