Return Pump

Definition

A return pump pushes water from the sump back up to the display tank. The heart of any sumped system.

Practical use

Size for 4-6x display volume per hour after head loss (vertical lift). Common DC controllable pumps: Sicce Syncra, Reef Octopus VarioS, EcoTech Vectra, Maxspect Gyre. DC pumps allow flow ramp-down for feeding mode.
