Golden ShinerNotemigonus crysoleucas

Native to eastern North America. The default bass forage where bluegill alone aren't enough - shiners reproduce in vegetation and provide a steady drip of small forage between bluegill spawn cycles. Females lay up to 200,000 eggs per spawn. Used heavily in Florida + southern bass ponds; common as a bait fish at most northern bait shops too.
