Grass Carp / White AmurCtenopharyngodon idella

East Asian native introduced to the US specifically for aquatic vegetation control. Grass carp eat hydrilla, milfoil, pondweed, and other submerged aquatic plants. They DON'T eat algae, water lilies, lotus, or pickerel weed - identify your nuisance vegetation before stocking. Most US states require triploid (sterile) grass carp; only a handful permit fertile diploids. Ship size matters - bass eat anything under 8".
